This dark intimate jazz club is like stepping back into time; a small stage hosts musicians, the dark intimate atmosphere brings about the revival of the Jazz Age.

1st Floor

Event Space

This museum exhibits the work of local artists as well as artists from the city's past; giving a glimpse into the area's cultural heritage.

2nd Floor

Museum

The top floor of the house is the caretaker's residence, usually a student at the local university in need of affordable housing and a desire to keep the history of the house alive.

3rd Floor

Caretaker's

Apartment

Built in 1894 , this property was the original home of Pittsburgh’s National Negro Opera House yet was abandoned in 1967. Although the Queen Anne Victorian has severely deteriorated over the last 5 decades, it still stands as a monument to the accomplishments of the black community. Plans have been put into place to restore and breathe new life into this beautiful structure. My vision for the building is multi-functional, from a jazz club, to a venue for weddings and events, as well as a museum for those who desire to explore the rich history of the African American culture in Pittsburgh. The space would also include an apartment for the caretakers of the property.
