About Me
My name is Christie Popovich from Pickerington, Ohio. I studied Interior Design and Historic Building Preservation at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh; I graduated in 2012 with my Bachelor's of Science degree.
Who Am I?
My Inspiration
From a young age I have been fascinated by the beauty of old and even abandoned buildings; the history being told by the architecture and the way nature reclaims what is rightfully theirs. I feel that as a fast-paced society we are all too eager to tear down and rebuild instead of appreciating what we already have. These are one-of-a-kind structures that once gone, are lost to us forever.
My Experience
After college I got my first job as a designer at a family owned furniture upholstery company. I helped launch their design studio and expand into area rugs, fabrics, draperies and other window treatments. After a few years I moved back home to the Columbus area and took positions as in-store designers for various furniture stores in the Easton area.
