Lobby Idea Sketch
First Floor
Deco Nouveau is a boutique hotel located in the heart of a major metropolitan city. The design focuses on the theme of transition as well as a bygone era that became overshadowed by the end of the second Great War and the beginning of the suburban age. The space celebrates the time period between the Art Nouveau and Art Deco eras; the juxtaposition of Art Nouveau's fluid and natural lines and the blunt streamlined edges of the Art Deco movement. This was a time when opulence and glamour came before anything else.
Ground Floor
The ground floor of the Deco Nouveau is donned in the decor that gives the hotel its namesake. A massive marble circular reception desk greets guests, directing them either to the carved brass elevator doors, the light and airy lobby, to the posh lounge, or up the sweeping stairs to the second floor.
Once up from the ground floor, guests arrive at the foyer, flanked by a bar and dance hall as well as a fine dining restaurant, giving them a variety of social options. A beautiful mix of antique and modern, showcasing the elegant infusion of the natural curves of Art Nouveau and the blunt lines of Art Deco.
